History of CT Sales
In 1972, Craig began selling auto parts to service stations in Santa Barbara, CA as a wagon jobber. As business grew so did his needs. Unable to afford a storefront in Santa Barbara, Craig relocated his family to his hometown of Barstow in 1977. He opened CT Sales on 2nd street in Barstow on October 28, 1977, earning his first dollar for 2 hose clamps. With a small store and limited inventory Craig utilized all tools necessary in order to build a customer base. If he didn’t have a part someone was looking for, his wife Debra would run out and purchase the part from another local store, returning quickly to resell it to the customer waiting.
Over the next decade business continued to grow, including the need for employee’s. With increased inventory, employees, and a strong customer base, Craig had outgrown his small location on 2nd street. In 1989, Craig relocated CT Sales to its current location of 1211 W Main Street. This location afforded Craig the ability to increase inventory and hire additional employees. CT Sales has faced and survived many ups and downs in our small town. We continue to learn and adapt to the times. We are proud to serve our community and we are thankful for our customers. With over 40 years of service to our local community, we look forward to continuing to provide our customers with our experience and knowledge, while maintaining our family environment.
